plonqI ordered a fairly obscure Anime movie from Amazon earlier this month. I was surprised that they showed it available, but since they did, I went ahead and ordered it. Fast-forward a week (or just a couple of days shy of their original promised delivery date) and I get an email from them telling me: " Item delayed 4-6 weeks."
In other words, "We don't actually have it in stock after all, and we have no idea how long it will take us to get this item - if at all - so we're going to string you along for a couple of months until you give up, cancel the order and order something else."
Maybe I'm being cynical pretty early in the game, but I suppose I'll wait the "4-6 weeks" and see what develops before I make my next move.
