plonqI had a meeting with the boss today to discuss a report that I am developing. Apparently the clients who will be using the report are moderately pleased, but have some questions about it, and want a few changes to it.
My first question to him was was: Why didn't they talk to me? Did I scare them that much in the last conference call?
My second question to him was: Are they on drugs? This is a report. What they're asking for here is an application. This change, ok. This one too. This one no, no, and no to that one too.
Anyway, they sent him a written recap, which he kindly forwarded back to me with the request that I handle their queries. Oh, and dumb it down without being patronizing. Zounds - maybe I did scare them in the last conference call.
I'm not sure how I could be patronizing in my response. Maybe something like, "Wow! Those are some, er, inventive ideas. You each get a gold star for thinking so far outside the box!" Ya, I guess that would be patronizing. A bit.
