Little ado about nothing
Oct. 16th, 2019 11:18 pmI had an awesome post written in my head as I was getting ready for bed earlier this week. I was going to postpone sleep so that I could come back in here and write it, but it was such an amazing bit of prose that i was certain that I would remember it in the morning.
Naturally by following morning I had no idea what I had planned to write. I don't remember anything about the post now except my feeling as I was mentally composing it that it could change everything. It would be my viral moment. The world would be talking about me for awhile. It would be my personal Really Big Button That Doesn't Do Anything.
I'd get amazing testimonials written about it like the RBB.
Someday I will probably remember the post, and I'll realize that my masterpiece was actually just a glorified fart joke.
That's usually the way it goes.
In other non-news, I have three all-but complete stories written in my head that I need to get out of my head. One is a MLP:FIM story that I completely plotted out while I was still working. I have all five acts mapped out in fine detail, and I should really get it into writing before it become completely irrelevant now that the series is over.
The second story is a silly Transformers story set in the Prime universe.
The third is an office story involving Plonq and Giblet. It wrote itself in my head - against my will, really - while I was out for a long walk last week, and it's been demanding to be released. I'm a little hesitant to write this one, not because I think it's a bad story, but because it doesn't fit the usual style of these stories in that this one is more drama than comedy.
I gave a quick synopsis of the plot to
atara.
Her: "Why would you even write that?"
Me: "Uh, because
duncandahusky has demanded more Giblet."
In fairness to her, my synopsis made the story sound pretty grim and dark. It deals with some very serious subject material, but the story (in my head, anyway) isn't as bleak as the summary made it sound.
Anyway, the first thing I need to do is pick the one I want to write first and start typing out the words.
Apparently polls are no longer a thing, so I'll go back to doing it the traditional way.
Which story should I work on first?
( ) Shameless MLP:FIM shipping story.
( ) Innuendo-laden Transformers Prime story.
( ) Grimdark Plonq/Giblet at work story.
( ) Something else, perhaps involving bunnies.

Dean Esmay remembers... "I fell in love with a girl named Melanie and no one, especially her, cared. But I pressed the button and I felt better. I laughed. I cried. I fell down. It was beautiful. Now I press it every day. I pity those who do not understand."
