The house was too hot for cooking this evening, so we misbehaved and ate out again. Originally we set out to go to a bland, family-style restaurant like Perkins, but somewhere along the way we suddenly decided to go for something more interesting and ethnic. After some debate on whether to go for Mexican or Indian, we ended up at the Clay Oven.

We have been there once before (I've been twice, because I went there with [livejournal.com profile] dronon a couple of months back) and we have very different memories of our first visit. [livejournal.com profile] atara remember the service being indifferent, almost to the point of rudeness, whereas I don't remember anything particularly good or bad about the service on our first trip. In any event, the food and service were both very good this time out, and we have both added this to our "visit again" list. [livejournal.com profile] atara has a shot of our attractive and delicious appetizer (note: it's the second picture in her post, not the first one.)

After dinner we went for a short drive up past Lockport to let things settle a bit. On the way back we spied several balloons drifting overhead. I liked the colour of the setting sun playing across them, so I pulled over and [livejournal.com profile] atara kindly fished out my camera so that I could get a shot.

Shot with the zoom at f/5.6, 1/45th of a second at 170mm. Fixed the colour in software and cropped it slightly to make it more interesting.
