There is something wrong with this picture. Oh ya, wrong century. Also wrong city.



I met atara for lunch today, and as we were walking up to pick up her prints for the photography class she as tomorrow, this old, left-over movie set caught my eye.

Nothing fancy or special in shooting this one. ISO 100, f6.7, 1/500th of a second exposure. Very modest cropping, slight tweak of the light and shadows, minimal sharpening and finally used some red/green calculations to convert it to B&W.

This guy was filming the water taxis at the time.

Interestingly, where I grew up in T.O, near Yonge and Eglinton, there was a local police station that was used as a film set after the police moved out and into new headquarters. The sign and lettering are quite reminiscent of the place; someone did some research. this is what the place I'm thinking of looks like now - but original door and signage have been completely changed.
