Jaws is our oldest cat, and the most camera-shy; it is unusual for her to hold still long enough for a picture.

Did you apply a filter? Looks like a Median Cut.

I applied a "brush stroke" filter to it. The picture already had a fair bit of contrast due the the cat's natural contrast, and the lighting. I just played around with cute effects from there until I found one that I liked.
