Hell ya.

We got out the door right on schedule yesterday, and so far neither of us has suddenly remembered anything important that we forgot to do, or pack before we left. The drive itself has been mostly uneventful. We took a wrong turn in Minneapolis, but we were confused by a number of environmental factors. We arrived in Minneapolis just in time for rush-hour traffic, it was dark, and there was construction. The construction workers had thoughtfully removed all direction signs, so when the road unexpectedly forked on us, there was nothing there to explain which fork led where. Given 50/50 odds, we naturally took the wrong fork and spent ten minutes on the wrong highway before we finally got back on track.

We had originally planned to push on for a couple more hours last night - perhaps as far as Madison - but when we took a random exit in Eau Claire for dinner, we spied the same hotel where we stayed on our trip down last year. It was a really interesting hotel, with a round tower holding half of the rooms, and a rats' maze of rooms in the lower level. I initially tried to get a room with a king-sized bed, but the girl at the desk informed me that all they had were doubles and queens.

"... unless you want the jacuzzi room."

Wait, so we can get a room with a king-sized bed and a jacuzzi for only $10 more? Hell ya!

So we can get the jacuzzi room for only $10 more? Hell ya!

Fantastic room! I did a back bedroom addition at my house where the oversize tub is outside of the half bathroom and inside the bedroom space. I'm going to add a small pump driven waterfall but I want to be able to drain all water from the pump and piping when I drain the tub.
Please disregard this as a weird plumbing fetish.

Niiiiiice room!

Thank god you guys are married, otherwise this jacuzzi might have led to very awkward and embarrassing situations since it's not exactly in a private washroom. Heh
