Another photo dump from the weekend.

Moon By Day
Believe it or not I shot this one at about 3:00 in the afternoon. Yes, it was full daylight. I noticed that the moon was prominently visible, so I set the camera on spot metering, zoomed in all the way and snapped a couple of B&W shots with the contrast boosted a bit. The polariser helped with the darkening of the afternoon sky for this shot.

Merry In Cat Tree2
While it appears that Merry is studying the ceiling, she was actually trying to get her bearings on a cat that was moving around over her head in the cat tree. She could hear movement up there, but couldn't quite get the angle to see what was going on.

Merry In Cat Tree
Wait -- what was that flash?

I Hurt You Now
Grrr! I hurt you now! Again! Harder! Sometimes it's easy to forget that these two are only playing. Merry was flipping and bouncing around like her tail was on fire. This was not the clearest picture in the lot, but I love her expression.

Something Interesting Over There
Have you ever noticed how cats will occasionally become focused on something that only they can see or hear? It can be more than a little creepy at times.

The cat shots are wonderful. But that moon shot boggles my mind.
Simply Amazing!

I shot a handful of them because I didn't know how it would turn out. Here's one of the colour ones that I took as well:

I pushed the contrast a bit in the B&W one to bring out some of the details, but in this one it is more obviously shot during the day. I don't normally go outside with my camera and shoot pictures of the moon, but I wanted to see how well it would resolve with that lens.

Where the results really impressed me is in the fact that I was simply steadying the camera by hand. The lens has a built-in image stabilizer, and in shots like this you can really see it at work.
