My new iPaq died a few months back for reasons that I won't get into here (but I accept at least partial responsibility).  I've had the unit set aside since it died, intending to contact HP for an RMA on it.  Finally on Thursday I spurred myself into action and I contacted HP tech support on their live chat.  The bored tech typed out a few token questions and then told me to call their warranty department.

I called them and went through the same series of questions.  Finally she said, "We're going to send you an empty box.  Please follow the instructions that come with it."  The next day (Friday) I got an empty, foam-lined box from Purolator, which contained a blank form for me to fill out, and an return label to affix to the box.  By the time I had everything completed and packaged up, it was too late to call for a pickup on Friday, so I left it in the receiving area and they sent it out with the regular Monday pickup.

On Tuesday I got a note from Purolator informing me that they had a package for me, but they'd mishandled it and it wouldn't arrive until today.  This morning I got my PDA back, fixed and working like new.  I was expecting a 6-8 week turnaround time on the warranty work.  This no-cost, next-day business completely floored me.  Colour me impressed.
