Dressing down

It's Friday, the weather is nice, and the boss is out of town.  This seemed like the perfect day for wearing blue jeans and a denim shirt to work.

... and wouldn't you know it, but I run into the VP of Operations and the GM of Operations on my way to the office.  What are the odds that, on the only day this year that I've decided to dress a bit slovenly for the office (in violation of the dress code):

1) I would run into two of the highest-ranking officials in my company...
2) ...on the one day that they're in town...
3) ...at 6:40 in the morning...
4) ...and that they'd be probably the only two top officials who actually know me by both face and name!  =(

Way to make a good impression.

Just because you spilled coffee on your suit at breakfast and only had those clothes handy? It was more important to get to work on time right? They'll understand.

I'm glad we have such a loose dress code here.

I'm in blue jeans and a hawaiian shirt today. I'm dressed "up" compared to about half the folks on my floor.

You're safe. They know your face and name. So, if you haven't been fired before now, the dress code is for mere mortals - NOT YOU. My three cents' worth.
