Old code

This morning I was making some minor changes to a report system I had set up awhile back.  After putting in the changes I scrolled down to the section where it checks the record dates so that I could over-ride the date function and run it again against current data.  The code that I needed was already in place, commented out so that I simply had to change a few characters to re-run the job.

I did a quick double-take when I noticed the date that was commented out.  Apparently it has been over seven years since I last did a manual run of this program.  A lot has changed in that time, but apparently this program has not.

Wow...I couldn't imagine running into my own code seven years from now. But I suppose if I haven't achieved financial freedom by then, it's quite possible it could happen. Did you feel a sudden urge to can the whole thing and re-write it?
