We apparently have some emotional infants working in our office.

Recently the Health & Safety committee started putting up posters in the washrooms imploring employees to wash their hands before leaving, ostensibly to help curb the spread of acute nasopharyngitis - which has taken a pretty heavy toll on our ranks this year.  At least one mental midget on our staff has taken offence at the posters because they have been posted, and subsequently torn down, three times already.  If that had been the extent of it, I could have written it off as the actions of an insecure, immature individual.  Last week I learned some more icky details that made me redouble my abuse of hand sanitizer; the committed only started putting up the posters after one or more individuals took it upon themselves to smear feces on various surfaces in the washroom.  Bleah.

This weekend somebody put their fist through the wall in the hallway just inside the front lobby.  Whoever it was, he hit the wall with enough force to go through one side of the wall, and leave an indentation on the wall across from it.  He's lucky that he didn't hit one of the metal studs or he'd have likely broken a knuckle or two - though that would have made it a bit easier to find the culprit.  As it is, we've used a bit of layman's forensics to determine that the person was very tall, and apparently left-handed.  That narrows the field a bit.  I insisted that there was enough evidence on the scene to suggest that he also walked with a slight limp, had a lazy eye and preferred his pasta al dente - but nobody listens to me.

Onto another topic...

We had a very productive 15-person run through UBRS1 last night.  When I say "very productive" I naturally mean that two pieces of the Devout set for priests dropped.  The first piece that dropped where the shoulders that I have been grinding for, and lusting after for a long time.  Naturally there were two priests in the raid, and I lost the roll to our guild's other primary priest.  I shan't lie and say that I wasn't disappointed.  I was quite vocal about it to poor [livejournal.com profile] atara.  "Well, now I'm all depressed."  On the other hand, I did not begrudge him for getting the set piece.  He needs the gear as much as I do, and it was quite fairly his.

The fact that I'd won the roll the last time a set piece had come up also mollified my feelings somewhat.

I like seeing others in the guild get their set pieces.  Each piece makes us one step closer to being a 1337 guild (er, 1337er guild I mean).

Then the Devout robes dropped.2 O_O

I'm sure it pained him as much as it would have hurt me in the same situation, but the other priest did exactly the same thing as I would have in that situation.

"I already got a set piece tonight.  You can have those."

Sw33t! - though I admit that I feel a bit guilty over the fact that we didn't roll for the robes.  I definitely got the better deal last night.  Next piece that drops is his if we're together on the raid.3  I also landed a rare piece of hunter armour last night.  I debated donating it to the guild bank, but my greed got the better of me and I put it up in the auction house.  If it sells I'll toss half of the proceeds to the bank and put the other half into my horse fund.  If it doesn't sell after a couple of listings then I'll probably just give it to the bank as incentive for one of our lower-level hunters to hit 60.

2These are the jewel in the crown of the priest Devout Armour set.  In some respects, once you get the robes, the rest of the pieces are more-or-less accessories.
3Admittedly that's a bit less generous than it sounds.  Although we both need 3 pieces to complete our armour sets, I think only one piece overlaps, so the odd are the next drop will be something that he or I already have anyway.

Ack! The term, "I'm surrounded by an idiot" would seem to fit your bathroom culprit.

Instead of "Please wash your hands after use of the facilities", maybe they'd have more luck with posters stating "Please wash your hands after re-enacting cave paintings with authentic materials. Also, you have no artistic talent"

"he also walked with a slight limp, had a lazy eye and preferred his pasta al dente"

After reviewing the evidence myself, I can also tell you that he enjoys whistling to christian music, and most likely has a sister called Susan.
