I think I may have resolved the issue that I've been having with ActiveSync at work; I unplugged the sync cable and moved it over to the other USB port.  I was so hung up on trying to find a software solution that it never occurred to me that it might be a hardware problem (in this case a bad plug).

That said, I'd still like to know what AvantGo did with my LJ post.

I sorry if I jumped on you guys a little hard in my post last night (enough so that one of you dumped me from his friends list), but just because I snarled at you doesn't mean I don't like you.  You pissed me off a bit, but I got over it.

Are you sure it was a bad plug?
Sometimes in Windows when you change something from one port to another (or frmo one pci slot to another) it redetects it as a new device, and may reinstall the drivers; maybe that was it?
I first thought you had overreacted with your snarly post, but then I went back and saw your iPaq had been a gift from Atara, and it seemed like they were making fun of it, so I guess I understand why you got upset
That said, I'm aLinux user myself, I use a Linux based PDA and I have to tell you the software is a pain x.x Both under windows and Linux this thing is a pain to set up, and when you think you got it working think again because it may break for no reason =P

Why are you sorry? I read the response in question and that was a clear-cut case of Internet Typing. Internet Typing is my name for that exact type of response (for those just joining us, I'm referring to responses you get that slam the product you're using/have a question about/etc. Internet Typing is also characterized by rambling about how THEY don't have any problems with their pet platform/product/etc or just telling a story that has no relevance to your question at all). Internet Typers provide no useful input while they're busy inflating their ego. Since they bring nothing to the table it is my opinion that they deserve to be put in check once in a while.

Personally speaking, my patience has been worn so thin by these people I have taken the (admittedly extreme) example from [livejournal.com profile] jwz: if I post a serious question and somebody pulls that routine "lol you're using crap, XYZ doesn't do that lol!11" as a reply, they're banned.

You are wise beyond your years, young grasshopper; I think you nailed it there. In any event, it's working again. /me is happy.

Even so, I'm annoyed with myself for succumbing to an angry outburst like that. I've been guilty of the selfsame "Internet Typing Syndrome" - though to my defense, I seldom say things that I wouldn't say face-to-face.

Much to [livejournal.com profile] atara's chagrin, I'm not shy about saying what's on my mind.

It is good to keep outbursts in check so they don't become routine. That being said... if you don't legitimately vent now and then against the Stupid, you risk exploding your brain. So you shouldn't feel too badly.
