Feb. 28th, 2006 10:02 amThe phone system made me laugh out loud today. I was updating my personal greetings (since I'd left them blank) and decided to update the "extended absence" greeting. Halfway into the process I changed my mind. I'm sure that earlier in the menus it had said to use the pound key to cancel, so I decided to give that a try.
"At the tone, please record your personal greeting..."
[BEEP]
"Pound is not a valid option!"
[BEEP]
"Pound is not a valid option!"
[BEEP]

[BEEP]
"Pound is not a valid option!"
[BEEP]
"I'm sorry you're having problems. Please try again later." [CLICK]
Whoever recorded the messages actually managed to have a slightly petulant timbre in her voice when she recorded that last bit. I sat there for about a second with my finger poised above the pound key before I burst out laughing. I love a phone system with attitude.
