I got a reply to my email query about the phones.
"Plonq, they ran out of phones last week, 16 more are on order."
If you listen close you can hear the sound of me not holding my breath. I predict that I will not see a new unit before May.
On the other hand, I must begrudgingly give them the nod for their quick response. I am also somewhat mollified by the fact that they ran out of phones, and didn't simply skip our office (which they have done in the past with other initiatives). That being said...
They came through our little office twice to count phones at the start of this exercise. How could they have come up that many phones short? It's not like the phones started breeding the moment that they turned their backs. (One suspects their method of counting went something like this, "One... two... three... another one...")
