Here is one of the reasons why I no longer support organizations like MADD.  I don't condone driving drunk, but neither do I like the direction in which they are pushing the laws.

Well, another reason that I don't support them is that I accidentally sent them some money a few years back and they've been hounding me with high-pressure phone calls for donations ever since.  They're one of the reasons why I got call display and started screening my calls.

My friend, JR wanted to start DAMM, Drunks Against Mad Mothers. It it truly scary how these special interest groups can change things while hiding behind their holier-than-thou facade.

Sheesh....

Here in Norway the limit is .02 (I think. Not certain about terms)

What this means is that it's NOT legal to drive when influenced at all.
(The .02 is to give a bit of leeway as some types of milk may contain alcohol, mouthwash and stuff like that)

We don't use 'walk on the white line' crap as that may fail some people regardless.

We sometimes do have checks where drivers are waved aside for a breathalyzer test, but I'm not going to make a fuzz about those...
(Then they test ALL drivers, not just those who looks suspicious. Equality under the law, you know)
They may stop a driver and test him, but only if they have a reason to suspect DUI.
(Of course, anyone involved in an accident is always tested, too)

If they find something that might be over the limit the next step is a blood sample as we don't consider a breathalyzer test as conclusive evidence.
Make a fuzz about that and they may well cuff you...

I don't consider this a problem as anyone who drives under the influence deserves to lose his license(at the very least)
Been to a party the day before?
Take the bus or a taxi!

You mean... they don't have randon breathtests and drink driving roadblocks in the US? Geez, we have them here in Australia all the time!

And our version of MADD is RAAAAADD - Recording Artists Actors And Athletes Against Drunk Driving. I think it has too many A's
