plonq: (Grossed out)
On the plus side, Belladonna's bladder problems have not come back since her last treatment. On the minus side, Merry is displaying the symptoms now. I am going to call the vet in a few minutes to make an appointment for her, but I can't help wondering if there is a common environmental factor that would cause two of our cats to come down with bladder infections (other than the fact that they are both tortoiseshells).

[pause to make some phone calls]

I tried calling our usual Veterinary office, but both doctors are out of town until the 6th, so they are not accepting any patients. Hmph. Well, bladder infections probably shouldn't be left for too long, so I guess it is time to start calling around. Cats - oy!

If there is a silver lining to this story, it is that Merry is a remarkably stupid cat. When Belladonna had her bladder infection(s), she made the connection between the litter box and her discomfort, so she started relieving herself in other places around the house. Merry is not smart enough to make that kind of connection.

"The killer, who witnesses report was "bathed in blood, from head to toe" came to the front of the bus and calmly told the other passengers that he had decapitated his victim and it was okay to come back on board.

It's a little disconcerting to think that this happened about an hour up the road from us. While that is not exactly in our back yard, it is still pretty close to where we live.
