Morning broke like the wind
Sep. 7th, 2005 06:02 amI love mornings like this. It's not quite night, but it's still far from being daylight out there. There is an opaline sky to the east, and a faint chill in the air which hints that the fall equinox is just around the bend. It's a perfect morning for sipping hot coffee (single cream, single sugar) and listening to the ethereal strains of Enya.
Our foster cats seem to be getting over their respiratory infections. Not only are they breathing better, but their energy levels have picked up noticeably. The kitten has made a quick transition from "an energy level at this state" to "OMG I AM A PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE!" She has also become a perpetual escape artist.
atara nailed it this morning when she said, "We need eyes in the back of our head now, between Belladonna trying to sneak into the room, and Mary trying to sneak out."
You non-cat owners out there might not know this, but kittens are fast. Either that, or they possess Star Trek transporter capability, because she has a way of suddenly appearing behind you as soon as you open the door to the foster room. So far we've managed to avoid a meeting of cats, but at some point she's going to meet one of the big furry xenophobes who stalk the wilds outside their little room, and I'm afraid that it may not be a pretty meeting.

The proof?
You may not always see them, but on some floors, you CAN hear them run...
