We made it home again, hale and sound.  I won't say that this was a terribly relaxing vacation, but it was a very satisfying one.  I am glad to be home, though.  We fell in the door this afternoon, gave the cats a quick pet (and some food) and then went over to [livejournal.com profile] pierrekrahn's for some barbecued burgers and a much-needed soak in his new pool.

I am too burnt out to post much just now, so you'll have to settle for this picture that [livejournal.com profile] atara shot out the window of the plane as we were leaving Abbotsford.

Mount Baker in all its glory.

That's an amazing photo... great snag!

Glad to hear you folks made it back safe and sound.

Hrmm. Funny how if I don't put an exclamation mark behind the "safe and sound", it seems like I was amazed by the photo but lackadaisical about your safe arrival. Of course, this isn't how I meant it... but my keyboard doesn't have a second form of exclamation mark that means I just as excited but not a cookie-cutter of the first excited.

!

You must have had a very clean window. Most of the airplane windows I get are filthy, scratched, and collect frost.

*sigh* I miss what REAL mountains look like. And I also have never been able to take a photo that clear through a scratched-up Lexane airplane window. Lucky you!

Very, verry. werry nice pic. By any chance, is that mountain a dormant volcano?

Not dormant, just sleeping. It still vents steam now and again.

This was a pretty old 737, but the windows were surprisingly clear and scratch-free.

I really miss the mountains of home. We don't even have hills out here - heck, we don't even have bumps in this part of the world.

That's generally been my experience as well, but these windows were surprisingly clear.

It was good that we could make it out. I'm hoping that the next time I visit the coast I'll actually have a bit more "me" time, though, so that I can visit properly. The two of us were running pretty ragged on this trip.
