(no subject)
Jan. 21st, 2005 07:44 amI was going to post an update about this last night but our internet connection at home has become flaky (the subject of another post - gah, where do they get these tier 1 support people?!).
The roller-coaster ride with my cat continues. When I talked to one of the veterinary technicians on the phone yesterday afternoon, she was anything but upbeat about Bit's condition. She was having trouble holding down food, was occasionally peeing in her bed, and was generally very listless and depressed (Er, Bit - not the technician). In other words, no change.
We stopped on our way home from work to visit with her again. She was very happy to see us, and though everything that the tech had said seemed about right (very depressed and listless), she looked better, and seemed a little perkier than she had the day before. She even managed to produce an audible purr this time.
The bombshell came when the doctor call last night around 8:30. He said that they'd given her a couple of injections to help with digestion, and force-fed her half a can of food which, so far, had stayed put. He asked us to stop in again today and bring some of her favourite food with us to see if we could coax her into eating voluntarily. If she does, then he's of the opinion that she should be ready to go home! They'll want to do another blood test before they release her, but apparently she's taken a turn for the better.
Big hugs and fish of gratitude to all of you who have been sending your kind thoughts our way. I'm not sure if it helped the cat, but it's definitely done me some good.
