Meeting madness!
Jan. 19th, 2005 11:17 amOne of the things that I "volunteered" for this year is to help assemble a business continuity plan for our office. I'm supposed to be coordinating my efforts with a girl in our head office. We have a very aggressive time line - the general idea is to have this thing in place by the end of May.
So far we haven't managed to coordinate our first meeting. That is, we have scheduled four meetings in the last three weeks and in this is how they have gone so far.
1) I am so sick an doped up on cold medication when she calls that we agree to reschedule.
2) She calls. Long moments of awkward silence make it apparent that neither of us are the least bit prepared. We agree to reschedule.
3) An hour before our last meeting I get slammed with a high-priority project. I contact her, and we reschedule.
4) She calls today. I am well-enough prepared to go forward, but she has other obligations. We reschedule for next week.
At this rate we should have our first draft in place by 2007.
