I'd probably never even have heard of this show if not for
atara, which would have been a real shame. We got all five seasons of it on DVD last Christmas and finished the series a couple of nights back.
I am told it did poorly in the ratings when it was running, and it got snubbed by the awards shows, but I agree with an assessment I have heard, describing it as "the best series you have never seen."
This was a wonderful scene from the first season.
I do not think I could describe the series as either uplifting or optimistic - in fact it paints a very depressing picture of the human condition. It brought closure, but very little redemption.
