Need... braaiins... er, coffeeeeee....

Three years ago today atara and I officially tied the knot.  Yay us.

I want to take her somewhere fancy for dinner tonight - though less fancy than I had originally planned since our furnace died last night and cost us $190 in repairs.  It's always the same part that goes, and it's not even a moving part.  This time around the guy replaced it with a more heavy-duty part designed for a different make of furnace.  The last replacement lasted just long enough to be off-warranty, so hopefully this one will last a bit longer .. or a bit shorter (so that the replacement is free).

I bet you'd be right.

It has been the thermocouple all three times that it's broken down. The last one barely lasted past its warranty period of a year. If it hadn't been evening by the time we found out that the furnace wasn't working I'd have picked one up and fixed it myself. I've watched them swap it out enough times to know how it's done.

I am slightly irked with the repairman because when I talked to him on the phone I told him that it was probably the thermocouple that was toast since we've had a history of problems with it. He showed up at the door with (surprise) no thermocouple, inspected the furnace and promptly announced that it appeared to be a problem with the thermocouple. Gee, I wonder where I heard that before?
